WHY STUDY THE OLD TESTAMENT?

The New Testament cannot be fully understood without the Old Testament.
Jesus considered it and quoted it all the time in His teachings.
The entire word of God is inspired and consists of the Old Testament and New Testament.
It provides the historical setting for Christianity and the New Testament.
It presents great truths about God and humanity.
It points to Jesus and instructs believers about His work from the beginning of time.
It lays the foundation for all the biblical prophecies fulfilled in the New Testament.
It is "God-breathed and profitable" - therefore applicable for all to gain wisdom (2 Timothy 3:15-17).
